Pastor Joshua Kirani has been at the forefront of the Grace Empowerment Programme in Kenya since 2006, dedicating his efforts to the rescue and rehabilitation of street youth in Nairobi. Thanks to your support, Pastor Joshua has successfully rescued hundreds of street boys, providing them with essential elements for their transformation:
- Nutrient-rich meals
- Gospel-based counseling
- Assistance in overcoming addictions to drugs and harmful substances
- A secure refuge known as the ‘Half-Way House,’ where a select group of boys can initiate their rehabilitation journey under Pastor Joshua’s guidance.
Despite the significant progress achieved in rescue and rehabilitation, the reintegration phase presents challenges due to the constraints of the half-way house. The semi-permanent structure faces limitations in both space and resources. Addressing these issues is crucial to ensure that street youth have an extended period for rehabilitation.
Presently, the Half-Way House can only accommodate a maximum of four boys at a time for a few weeks. This limitation necessitates the departure of beneficiaries to make room for new individuals on the extensive waiting list. Expanding the capacity and resources of the facility is essential to offer a more prolonged and effective rehabilitation experience for these vulnerable youth.
