Education & Livelihood – ARK QUEST EDUCATION CENTRE

The inspiration for the name Ark Quest stems from the biblical tale of Noah’s Ark, symbolizing a simple yet effective refuge against overwhelming challenges. Just as Noah used basic materials to construct his vessel, Ark Quest School serves as a vital sanctuary and source of strength for the children under its care, mirroring the resilience and hope embodied in the biblical narrative.

How do they do it

The school offers a tranquil and secure environment conducive to learning, providing essential meals like breakfast, lunch, and porridge to its students. This provision has led to a steady increase in enrollment. Currently, the school accommodates one hundred and fifty (150) children, supported by thirteen teachers and thirteen support staff members. Notably, the school has garnered recognition for its outstanding academic performance within the region. Out of the one hundred and fifty children (150), sixty-one have been offered educational support.

Since 2010, the school has operated within temporary structures made of mud and wattle, necessitating frequent maintenance due to termite infestation.  Ark Quest embarked on a transformative journey to build new permanent classrooms, enhancing its facilities and securing its future.

Classroom construction and completion

The objective of the classroom construction project is to build standard classrooms in rural western Kenya, specifically in Vihiga County, to offer quality education to underprivileged children.

By constructing these new classrooms, each student will have their own desk, enabling them to engage effectively with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) activities.

The enduring impact of these new facilities includes ensuring that the school meets government standards, attracting more students, and providing enhanced education that empowers individuals to become more responsible and fulfilled members of society.
